For our October monthly poetry reading, we are delighted to have Esme Allman, author of Sweet Bone Girl.
Free entry. Come for the poetry. Stay for the poetry. Arrive at 5 pm. We’ll offer you something fizzy. Usually a drink (but perhaps one day it will be a sherbet fountain).

Sweet Bone Girl at Bedales Poetry Festival
As part of the Bedales Poetry Festival, poet Esme Allman and sound artist Merce Jade will be joining us in the Olivier Theatre to give evening performances.
This is a collaboration project with Bedales School and Apples and Snakes to support students in crafting and honing their poetry, alongside the opportunity to hear poetry performances from a variety of diverse external performers.

Join us for the Bristol launch and celebration of Esme Allman’s debut collection of poems, Sweet Bone Girl. The evening will include readings by Esme and Kaycee Hill, and DJing by Merce Jade, as well as a discussion of "the poetics of sound".
Sweet Bone Girl Launch at Kirkdale Bookshop
Join us for an evening of poetry as we celebrate the launch of Sweet Bone Girl, an extraordinary debut collection by Esme Allman, examining and exploring the intricate dynamics of desire as it intertwines with Black womanhood; negotiating the boundaries of history, culture, and identity.
The evening will include special guest poets giving readings, as well as a signing.
