About
Esme Allman is a Bristol-based artist-facilitator from London. She works across the disciplines of poetry & literature, theatre, movement, film and facilitation to explore blackness, desire, imagined worlds and human relationships with the ecological landscape.
She has over eight years of experience facilitating creative workshops with arts organisations, charities and universities nationally and internationally. She has designed and delivered creative curriculum projects for arts organisations such as ABP Autograph Gallery, Barbican Centre, Poetry Vs Colonialism with the London Metropolitan Archives and the Unicorn Theatre.
Her poetry uses the ekphrasis form to challenge notions of black female subjectivity in visual art, using poetry as a tool to explore, undo and agitate these power dynamics.
