Esme Allman is an artist working across the disciplines of poetry & literature, theatre, movement, film and facilitator. She is based in South East London and her work explores blackness, desire and imagined worlds.

Esme has facilitated creative workshops with organisations such as the Arvon Foundation, ArtsEd, the Barbican Centre, Clean Break, The Passage, Poetry Vs Colonialism and the London Metropolitan Archives, Sydenham Arts, Kings’ Theatre, Fevered Sleep and the Robert Bosch Foundation in Berlin.

Her work has been commissioned by NHS Arts and Heritage, English Heritage, the Institute of Contemporary Art, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6. She was also a Weston Jerwood Creative Fellow (2021-2022) and received British Council funding to connect with local creatives and initiatives in Athens.

She has a background in participatory theatre, with experience working at Cardboard Citizens, Clean Break and the Young Vic.
